Brumbies vs Sharks

On Saturday 13 March I took Caleb to his first ever rugby game. Thankfully we didn't go the week earlier as it bucketed with rain and the Lions got a bit of a hammering, but we went expecting the 'sharkies' to put up a good fight.
So dressed in our finest Springbok gear we went to Canberra Stadium to cheer on the 'Saffers'!

Caleb couldn't understand why the teams practised for so long before the game but he was kept occupied before kick-off when Brumbie Jack came over and gave all the kids a hug and high five.

The game was pretty tight the whole way with the Brumbies in the end winning 24 - 22. The highlight though was Ruan Pienaar scoring a try in the corner where we were sitting.

Ruan on his way to score the Sharks only try.

The big boys! Jannie du Plassis, The BEAST, Ruan and Bismark.

Stephan Terblance giving Caleb the thumbs up when he shouted, "GO SHARKS!"

Tell the ref how you REALLY feel John!

The boot that won it for the Brumbies. Just shows that practise does make perfect.
Ruan feeding the scrum with Mortlock looking on.

Caleb really enjoyed it and we weren't even out the car park on the way home after the game before he was fast asleep.

  1. Great report and pics of the Shark's game. Glad to see you both wore the correct clothing!! Where did Caleb get his Springbok hoodie? I reckon Stefan Terblanche is one of the best players, most consistant and a reliable "cleaner upper". I know he's getting on a bit, but his clean precise style of play is great. Here endeth the lesson.....Love the rugby expert xx
