Tasmania #13. Swansea, Great Oyster Bay

Great Oyster Bay from our motel.
The beach where the boys had a good play.
The general store has been run by a family since 1838.

Tasmania #12. Fun with the boys,

Tasmania #11. Cold Mountain

The famous Cradle Mountain with a dusting of snow from the cold front that passed over the night before.
Stopped at a little mountain stream to check how cold the water was...

...yip, it was cold!

Tasmania #10. Wilmot

The first ever Coles Store was open by the Coles brothers in the town of Wilmot.
Much of the store has been left in the original set up. An awesome little general store.
Wilmot is renowned for the ornamental letter boxes that the residents have made. This angel is made of old beer cans.
A mural outside the general store showing some of the letterboxes in the area...
...and the mural on the other side of the shops.

Tasmania #9. One awesome river!

This awesome river was at the bottom of the property at Mountain Valley.

Special treat... my first wild platypus. Trust me to only have my small lens with me!

Tasmania #8. Wildlife during the day...

This little guy is called a Pademelon. They're only about 30cm tall.
Superb Fairy Wren
This little Echidna came right up to me as I was lying down trying to take his photo and sniffed my camera bag.
Tasmanian Native Hen...one of 7 lifers for the trip!

Tasmania #7. ...and wildlife during the night.

Caleb in our makeshift hide watching the Tasmanian Devils come up onto the veranda.
What you lookin' at?

A Spotted Quoll also came by to have a feed.
An unexpected guest...woke to find this little guy on our bed!
One of the Tassie Devils sniffing around outside the bedroom window.
